Description/Notes: High School Teacher/Head Volleyball Coach. Seeking applicants for a High School Teacher/Head Volleyball Coach (possible Girls Athletic Coordinator). Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences through classroom instruction to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Additionally, provide instruction to athletes to develop their skills, as well as strength and conditioning needed to excel in assigned sport(s) - specifically Volleyball. This position is for someone willing to contribute to the educational program here at La Grange ISD as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
• Hold or the ability to secure a clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• 3-5 years coaching or participant experience in sport assigned preferred

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
2. Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
3. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed.
4. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct.
5. Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes.
6. Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions.

Salary Range: LGISD Teacher Hiring Schedule
