JOB GOALS: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experiences for each individual student in the district.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certification.
  • Meets all certification requirements for the grade level or subject area including proper teaching area endorsements.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 191 Days (10 Months)

COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

BENEFITS: As per QCUSD District policy

REPORTS TO: Principal

HOURS: 40 hours per week, may require longer hours - Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Strategic Plan of Queen Creek Unified School District.
  • Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students within the district curriculum.
  • Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives.
  • Creates weekly written lesson plans correlated with curriculum aims and/or objectives.
  • Monitors and assesses student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Diagnoses, instructs, and evaluates student needs, seeking assistance of district specialists as required.
  • Communicates aims and objectives to students clearly and organized.
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Assists administration in implementing policies and rules for proper student behavior.
  • Develops and enforces classroom rules fairly.
  • Creates educational experiences promoting student development in social skills, decision making, and self-image.
  • Follows district philosophy, policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Communicates professionally with colleagues, students, parents, and community.
  • Supervises students on school property and during school-sponsored activities.
  • Maintains professional competence and punctual attendance.
  • Performs duties under stress, interacting effectively with students, parents, peers, and the public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands and arms, move about campus, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
