License and Certification Qualifications: Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.

Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a Professional Standards Commission (PSC) approved college or university required.

Experience Qualifications: Previous teaching experience preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum, content expertise, curriculum integration techniques, GCPS policies, instructional practices, technology infusion, effective communication, and human relations skills.

Primary Responsibilities: Plan and deliver instruction based on district AKS curriculum, create a conducive learning environment, assess student progress, organize classroom activities, manage behavior, participate in professional development, and maintain professional responsibilities.

Specific duties include:

  1. Demonstrate command of the subject matter.
  2. Develop instructional objectives aligned with district curriculum.
  3. Select and modify instructional resources.
  4. Communicate lesson focus and link content to students’ prior knowledge.
  5. Organize and present content logically, following research-based instructional models.
  6. Apply effective instructional strategies, assess student learning, and provide feedback.
  7. Monitor and adjust instruction based on formative assessments.
  8. Assess student achievement with appropriate summative assessments.
  9. Organize the classroom to maximize learning time.
  10. Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment and behavior expectations.
  11. Engage in ongoing professional growth and learning activities.
  12. Maintain professional responsibilities, communicate effectively, and serve as a role model.
  13. Perform any additional duties as assigned.
