Job summary

Paterson Public Schools in New Jersey seeks an experienced ESL teacher to support English language learners across multiple grade levels. Hold a New Jersey Intructional Certification and demonstrate knowledge of NJSLS, WIDA, and mandated state testing.

The ideal candidate will exhibit integrity, strong classroom management, effective instructional strategies, and proficient use of technology to enhance lessons and communicate with students, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• Hold a New Jersey Intructional Certification.
• Knowledge of NJSLS, WIDA, and mandated state testing.
• Excellent experience teaching and working with various grade level students.
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching English as a second language, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis and research related to learning and children needing to learn English as a second language.
• Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Demonstrate the ability to use technology and technological devices to enhance lessons, as well as for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Successful implementation of instructional strategies.
• Must be computer literate.
• Highly motivated result-driven educator.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
