Job summary

Capital Region ESD 113’s Summit Academy seeks a Teacher Associate to provide direct learning support for students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. You will assist with lesson tasks and support teachers under supervision, contributing to a safe, structured learning environment.

The role involves coordinating with teachers and families, collecting data, and helping implement IEPs and BIPs to improve student outcomes within a 7.5-hour day over 190 days per year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; ParaPro assessment or equivalent may be required.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a member of a student’s team to maintain consistent behavior plan implementation.
• Assists students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments to reinforce learning.
• Attends planning meetings and trainings to ensure program consistency.
• Coordinates with teachers, families, and staff to improve student outcomes and curriculum planning.
• Maintains records and prepares materials related to IEP data and behavior plans.
