Tucker High School is seeking a Teacher Assistant, who utilizes best practices to increase student achievement. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver and promote high academic expectations to all students. The ideal candidate must work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Title : Teacher Assistant

Under general supervision, perform routine tasks to provide educational support during non-instructional periods and assist with classroom management to ensure a safe and orderly environment for instruction while also performing routine support tasks such as meal preparation and cashier duties in the school cafeteria. Perform duties under direct supervision as an entry-level individual contributor.

• Reinforce lessons by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups to support their learning and comprehension.
• Assist teachers with classroom management activities to ensure a conducive and effective learning environment for all students.
• Prepare educational materials and organize classroom activities to facilitate the main educator's lesson plans.
• Oversee students during non-classroom times, such as in-between classes, during lunch, and on field excursions, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify student issues and recommend solutions while documenting student progress as needed.
• Set up the breakfast serving line, including juice, fruit, cereal, and condiments, while ensuring cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
• Conduct end-of-day breakdowns and cleaning procedures for both the classroom service areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Communicate with parents under teacher supervision regarding student progress or concerns when necessary.
• Perform routine tasks that require limited judgment within defined parameters following clearly established processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Associate degree with a minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
