Position Requirements and Preferences

1. Minimum Qualifications:
2. High school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Education Development (GED) testing program.
3. Effective communication and interaction skills with children.
4. Computer skills as needed for the position.
5. Preferred Qualifications:
6. Successful completion of the Principal of Teaching (formerly Teacher Assisting Curriculum) at a designated technical college in the Broward County School District.
7. OR achieving a passing score on the ParaPro Test or other officially sanctioned standard tests demonstrating ability to assist in instructing reading/language arts, writing, and mathematics; or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
8. OR an earned associate degree from an accredited institution, or at least 60 semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution.

Compensation and Additional Details:

• Hourly Rate: $15.375 – $21.910
• Calendar: 188B
• Pay Grade: 13
• New hires will be hired at the minimum of the hourly range.
