Assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities.
Supervises students.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), a passing score on the WorkKeys Assessment Test, and completion of at least one of the following:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Effective presentation of information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or simple written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Previous work in child care. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties in accordance with district requirements and policies.
