Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Edgewater, NJ seeks a part-time Teacher Assistant to support preschool learning in a warm Montessori setting. You will help children explore, develop independence, and build confidence through guided activities.

You will collaborate with Lead Teachers, maintain records, and communicate with families while fostering safe, respectful classroom dynamics and growth opportunities for each child.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Teacher Assistant Preschool

Location: Edgewater, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 6:30pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:
