Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant in Tonawanda, NY to support classrooms Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM–2:45 PM, earning $19.00/hour. Join our team to help young students learn, grow, and reach their individual goals alongside caring classroom teachers.

You’ll work one-on-one and in small groups, assist with daily activities, IEP goals, and create a safe, welcoming environment where every child can succeed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patience, dependability and a positive attitude are essential.
• Ability to stay active and engaged throughout the school day.
• Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities or behavioral support is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students.
• Help students work toward their IEP goals.
• Assist with classroom lessons, play, art, music, sensory activities, playground time and more.
• Encourage positive behaviors, communication and social skills.
• Provide additional support to students who need individualized attention.
• Assist students with daily needs, including feeding, dressing, toileting and mobility support.
