Schedule: 17 hours per week, Monday-Friday, no weekends. Start at 2:00 or 3:00 pm, until 7:30 pm.

Job Summary

Assists the teacher with preparing materials, maintaining the classroom, supervising children, supporting their growth and development, and closing activities each evening. Plays a vital role in the Child Development Center, supporting Virtua employees by caring for their dependents, enabling peace of mind during their workday.

Responsibilities

• Supervises children indoors and outdoors, using positive discipline techniques aligned with NAEYC standards. Participates in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child growth and development tailored to the specific age group, employing appropriate language, activities, and approaches.
• Maintains effective communication with teachers, staff, parents, and administration while upholding confidentiality.
• Assists in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the classroom, playground, and center.
• Prepares and follows through on materials for age-appropriate, hands-on learning activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of formal experience in a child care setting.
• Optimistic, team-oriented, and able to establish effective relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• High school diploma required; willingness to complete ECE units at a local college within one year of employment.
• Meets state licensing requirements for a Teacher Assistant and maintains necessary credentials.
