Job summary

Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support students under the supervision of the school leadership and a classroom teacher. You will assist with in-class instruction, small groups, and one-on-one tutoring.

Required: Associate’s degree or 48 semester units (CBEST acceptable); Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required. Demonstrated experience with students and ability to work with families and staff are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or a minimum of 48 semester units of college coursework (and/or have CBEST).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual (oral & written) Spanish/English.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with students.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively work with students, staff & parents.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as in-class support for students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher to execute lesson plans.
  • Assist with co-planning and co-teaching for students.
  • Report on student progress and contribute to program modifications.
  • Manage small learning groups and provide one-on-one tutoring.
  • Assist in maintenance of student records of attendance and achievement.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to meet individual student needs.
  • Integrate educational technology to strengthen learning.
