Job summary

The Mapleton School located in Malvern, PA is seeking Teacher Assistants to provide direct behavioral intervention to students in an educational setting focused on PBIS. This is a 52-week position with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule.

Compensation ranges from $41,600 to $47,424 annually based on experience. Benefits eligibility begins after 30 days, plus opportunities for training, growth, and the ASCEND Career Accelerator Program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
  • Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies to reduce risk.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety.
  • Establish classrooms conducive to maximum learning and guide students to socially appropriate behaviors.
  • Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs.
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by the Special Education Teacher.

The Mapleton School located in Malvern, PA is seeking Teacher Assistants to provide direct behavioral intervention to students. Every day as a Teacher Assistant you will....
  • Ensure student safety
  • Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
  • Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher

The Mapleton School located in Malvern, PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Devereux’s approved private schools offer high quality, innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student, or as a part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
