Summary

Orders, prepares, and distributes meals to classrooms. Maintains allergy list. Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes all service wear. Classroom duties are required in the afternoon, consisting of lesson planning, activities, and playground supervision.

Job Duties

• Supervise children.
• Help create and implement developmentally appropriate afternoon lesson plans.
• Deliver and serve meals at scheduled times.
• Develop and provide lesson plan resources to encourage healthy eating, especially during nutrition month.
• Ensure carts are set up with appropriate items and food portions before meal service to maintain efficiency.
• Notify hospital food service personnel of menu changes or issues related to food quality, ordering, or service.
• Participate in food preparation and clean-up of catered and special functions.
• Provide additional servings of remaining food for children.
• Provide food items according to CACFP nutritional guidelines.
• Allow children to serve themselves in all classrooms.
• Review classroom allergy lists monthly, make necessary changes, and take precautions.
• Serve and maintain food in compliance with all food safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma CDA with 2 years of experience or
• Associate's Degree with 15 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
• 3 years of experience related to child care and development.
• 1 year of experience with food service.
• First Aid Certificate - State of Pennsylvania (upon hire).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania (upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development/Family Studies, or Early Childhood Special Education.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs., frequent sitting/standing, keyboard use. Activities may include kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR as role-specific activities.
