Job description

We are currently hiring for full-time Teacher Assistants to start mid-August. Our childcare program operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will promote the optimal development and well-being of children through family-centered childcare and assist in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate programs that emphasize learning through play.

Your Main Priorities

While additional responsibilities may arise, your primary duties include:

  1. Assisting the Teacher in the classroom.
  2. Demonstrating professional manners through promptness, proper notification of tardiness or absence, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude, and respecting the program and agency.
  3. Maintaining a safe, sanitary, stimulating, and inviting environment.
  4. Managing an Early Childhood classroom and providing appropriate supervision of children.
  5. Participating in curriculum planning and assisting in the implementation of the monthly curriculum.
  6. Developing plans that meet the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
  7. Implementing daily activities based on children’s individual assessments.
  8. Overseeing children’s activities and interacting directly with groups and individuals.

Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a childcare setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Must meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, carrying, and lifting up to 25 lbs. It also involves operating desktop, laptop, and/or cell phone devices, and communicating with colleagues.
