Job summary

Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is seeking a Full-time Teacher Assistant/Driver for West Haven, CT, to support students with behavioral and social/emotional needs. The role requires strong leadership, creativity, and initiative, plus effective written and oral communication.

Prior experience with similar roles is preferred and transportation duties may be part of the job. The ACES program is located within Seth Haley Elementary School in West Haven, serving high school aged students

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to students with behavioral and social-emotional disorders.

Job Description

Full-time Teacher Assistant/Driver position needed for students with a behavioral and social/emotional dis-regulation in West Haven, CT. This position is in an ACES program located within Seth Haley Elementary School in West Haven. Prior successful work experience in a similar position desired.

ACES West Haven Collaborative is a collaborative program between ACES and West Haven Public Schools serving high school aged students with behavior and social/emotion disabilities.

Individual must possess strong leadership qualities such as: creativity and initiative and have good written and oral communication skills. Experience with children and behavioral management system required.

This is a full-time 10 month position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• College experience or passing score on paraprofessional assessment test (Parapro) preferred.
