A local educational institution in New York seeks a qualified individual to work in crisis intervention. Responsibilities include supervising students, working with educational staff, and implementing behavior management plans. Candidates should have relevant educational qualifications and the ability to handle confidential information. Bilingualism is preferred. This role plays a vital part in promoting positive outcomes for students.
Works with staff, i.e. teachers, teacher's assistants, social workers and administration in a manner which is beneficial to the students.
Supervises students in the crisis room and utilizes staff for support in interventions when necessary.
Prevents a crisis from occurring by interceding upon request and removes a student from a situation when applicable.
Prepares students for a positive classroom re-entry.
Develops a positive working relationship with the students.
Functions as a member of the crisis team in performing tasks relevant to setting, implementing, achieving and evaluating behavior management plans; maintains and submits progress notes and other reports; meets and consults with members of the crisis team.
Other duties as determined by the building administrator.
Supports the Sodus Central School District Strategic Plan.
