Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an Assistant Teacher to partner with ISD teachers in developing preschool activities aligned with educational objectives and performance standards. You will assist with materials, classroom activities, records, and safety procedures in a supportive role.

The ideal candidate has a CDA credential or is enrolled in a CDA program, or holds an ECE-related degree with coursework. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to engage families and students.

Qualifications

• Current CDA credential or enrollment in CDA program within one year of hire.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in any area with 18+ hours of ECE coursework.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing learning activities aligned with lesson plans and cultural backgrounds.
• Provide instructional support to students under teacher supervision.
• Participate in screening, observation and progress documentation in the online system.
• Record and maintain student portfolios and logs.
• Keep classroom clean and orderly; ensure safety policies are followed.
• Assist with in-kind and volunteer time documentation.
• Support behavior management and student needs as directed.
• Assist in teacher's absence and take a lead role when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ob SummaryThis position works as a team partner with the ISD teacher in developing activities for preschool children to provide an appropriate learning environment. Assistance is given to the teacher in carrying out the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards. This position may be assigned additional duties based upon program need and areas of developing expertise.Core Duties and Responsibilities1. Assist in developing learning materials and providing activities outlined on the lesson plan and related to the cultural background of the children and families served.2. Provide instructional services to students under the guidance of the classroom teacher.3. Participates in the screening, observation and documentation of progress in student assessment online system.4. Record and maintain student records such as Portfolios, AM/PM Checklist, Toothbrushing Logs, Cleaning Logs, etc.5. Ensures that the classroom environment is clean and orderly.6. Assist in ensuring that all policies and procedures related to education and safety for children are followed.7. Generates and documents in-kind and volunteer time sheets.8. Assist with students exhibiting behavioral/management needs.9. Assumes the lead role in the teacher's absence.10.
