As a Teacher Assistant, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Every day as a Teacher Assistant, you will....

  1. Ensure student safety
  2. Assist in establishing classroom environments that are conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
  3. Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
  4. Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by the Special Education Teacher
  5. Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

You will be offered:

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4 pm (52-week, year-round position)
  • Compensation: $41,600 - $47,424 annually (based on experience)

Devereux Center for Autism Research and Education Services (CARES) is an educational program licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that provides services to students aged 5 to 21 diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. CARES provides an environment focused on teaching each student based on their unique strengths and needs, with programming aimed at increasing independence for each student.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.

Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
