Teacher Assistants - BakerRipley Community Schools

Teacher Assistants in BakerRipley Community Schools support the whole child by focusing on student development through high-quality, innovative intervention and progress monitoring. They maintain data-based documentation of student performance and progress during interventions.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use scientifically researched interventions tailored to individual student difficulties in reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
  2. Differentiates intervention plans based on students' unique learning profiles to engage and challenge learners of all ability levels.
  3. Utilize assessment data to modify short- and long-term plans, targeting areas for improvement.
  4. Provide data to school teams and participate in decisions regarding student progress.
  5. Submit up-to-date intervention plans to the appropriate administrator.
  6. Adjust interventions as necessary after data collection, reflection, and learning cycles to maximize effectiveness.
  7. Facilitate, manage, and coordinate student practice through meaningful learning experiences.
  8. Check for academic understanding frequently and provide feedback to ensure learning.
  9. Communicate high expectations for character and behavior by teaching, practicing, and reinforcing rules and expectations.
  10. Collaborate with content and grade-level teachers to ensure alignment of academic habits, traits, and mindsets.
  11. Utilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
  12. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, including meeting deadlines and respecting colleagues' schedules.
  13. Perform related duties as requested by the Director and/or principal.
  14. Be knowledgeable of campus requirements, academic policies, and available community support services.
  15. Create a welcoming environment that fosters respect and kindness, encouraging students to take risks.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with young and school-aged children and/or teaching experience is highly desirable.

• Experience as an interventionist is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
