Missouri Valley Community Action Agency seeks a Teacher Assistant and Bus Monitor to support a Head Start program in Richmond, VA. You will assist the lead teacher with developmentally appropriate activities and ensure a safe, engaging classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds.
You will help with lesson plans, documentation, and coordinating volunteers, while promoting a positive work environment and communicating with families.

The Teacher Assistant assists the Teacher in implementing and planning developmentally appropriate individual activities in a safe, healthy learning environment.
This position promotes and provides opportunities to staff to embody the agency mission which is “To Engage Communities and Coordinate Resources to Improve the Lives of People Experiencing Poverty”. Program operation is designed around the mission, vision and values of the agency to meet both program and agency strategies and goals.
Essential Functions:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Applicant must also have a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to earn a Child Development Associate Credential within 18 months of hire unless have a CDA credential.
