Job summary

Primrose School of Manhattan at East 82nd Street is seeking an Assistant Teacher to create a fun, safe environment and guide infants through preschool with the Balanced Learning curriculum.

You will build relationships with children, support development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains, and collaborate with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans.

This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, PTO, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous teaching experience required.
• CPR / First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and assist with infants.

Responsibilities

• Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child.
• Help children explore the world, improve motor skills and grow vocabulary.
• Work with your co-teacher to implement the Balanced Learning curriculum.

As an Assistant Teacher at the Primrose of Manhattan at East 82nd Street you’ll create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. Our teachers help guide infants through preschool age children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous teaching experience required
• CPR / First Aid certified required
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children in childcare setting
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
• Employee must be at least 18 years of age.

Hourly compensation $22-$26/hour, depending on experience and credentials
