Job summary

CHI St. Joseph Children's Health in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support planning, preparation and delivery of lesson plans and activities that foster active learning aligned with CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health’s philosophies.

You will assist the Lead Teacher in delivering a quality program, help maintain a safe and engaging environment, and communicate student progress to families as appropriate. CPR and First Aid are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED at hire.
• Experience mentoring and supervising youth in a recreational or educational setting.
• CPR within 30 days after hire.
• First Aid within 30 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in delivering quality program for children and families.
• Aid in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and activities.
• Support in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for all children, families and colleagues.
• Maintain records of students' progress and needs and communicate with parents as appropriate.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for aiding in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans, special activities and provocations that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.

• Assist lead teacher in the delivery of quality program, support and services for children and families accessing the childcare and early childhood education programs of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
• Aid in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans, special activities and provocations that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
• Support in preparing and maintaining a safe, healthy, inviting, nurturing and engaging environment for all children, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain positive and proactive approaches to discipline and student behavior in accordance with the behavior policy, plans and mindful philosophies endorsed by CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
• Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining and regularly communicating accurate and complete records to students, colleagues and parents regarding students' progress, development, and needs as appropriate.
• Assist in updating all necessary records accurately and completely on students and activities as required by laws, policies and school regulations.

Job Requirements

• Experience with mentoring and supervising youth within a recreational or educational setting, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
