State of Michigan’s Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) seeks a Teacher Aide E8 in Northville to assist the Special Education Teacher in delivering basic subjects and handling classroom operations.
The role follows defined education/experience levels; training at SMPH in Northville precedes potential work at WRPH. Pre-employment and ongoing substance testing will apply; AI usage in selection is prohibited.

This position will assist the Special Education Teacher in the instruction of basic subjects to students and provide a variety of services that assist in the daily operation of the classroom.
The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.
All staff with start dates on/after 08/17/2026 will train at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Northville but, upon completion of training may work at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital (WRPH) until their position/classification officially moves from WRPH to SMPH at a date yet to be determined.
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
