Hermitage Hall, a UHS company near Nashville, is seeking a licensed Teacher to plan curriculum, create classroom schedules, and prepare lessons that meet students’ individual needs, including those with IEPs, in alignment with state requirements.

The Teacher also supports students with medical needs, helping develop daily living and behavioral skills; candidates must have a TN teaching license and attend a two-week orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Valid TN Teaching License required.
• TN Teaching Permit acceptable if pursuing within three years of hire.
• Special Education endorsement preferred.
• Preferred one to two years related experience and/or training.
• Must attend the two-week orientation classes, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Support students by assisting with special healthcare needs and developing daily living and behavioral skills.
• Administer standard classroom procedures and maintain current school records with confidentiality.

Position Summary: The Teacher is responsible for planning curriculum, creating classroom schedules, and preparing lessons and instructional materials that meet the individual needs of students including those with IEPs, when applicable in alignment with state and school requirements. The position also supports students by assisting with special healthcare needs and helping them develop daily living and behavioral skills.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements behavioral objectives by reviewing referral and assessment data.
• Establishes, monitors, and documents goals and objectives for individual student needs with assistance of treatment team.
• Administers standard classroom procedures by maintaining current school records and maintains confidentiality of all student records per program guidelines.
• Ensures line-of-sight supervision of assigned students, maintains structured environment to ensure student involvement as appropriate.
