Job Summary

The Special Education Paraprofessional works one-on-one with students receiving special education support.

Assignment Information and Qualifications

  • Part-Time
  • 29 Hours/Week (Monday - Friday when instruction is in session)
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1:1 Student Support
  • Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement and the 2025-2026 Wage Schedule - $15.50/Hour

Essential Functions The job is not limited to any or all of the following skills, duties and responsibilities:

  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Dependable Attendance
  • Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
  • Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
  • Basic understanding of technology
  • Ability to assist with personal care needs
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
  • Some lifting may be required
  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
