Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of content and instruconal strategies, excellent organizational, communicaon, and interpersonal skills; ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; ability to present informaon one-on-one, small group, and large group situaons to students, families, and district staff

Major Responsibilies And Dues

Instruct assigned classes in the locaons and at the mes designated.

Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilies of the students.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

Prepare for classes assigned, and show wrien evidence of preparaon upon request of the administraon.

Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum standards by establishing clear objecves for all lessons, units and projects and communicate these objecves to students.

Employ a variety of instrucional techniques, technology, and instrucional media, consistent with the physical limitaons of the locaon provided and the needs and capabilies of the individuals or student groups involved.

Strive to implement by instrucon and acon the districts philosophy of educaon and instruconal standards.

Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

Connually assess the needs of students and refer to the appropriate building level individual(s) when learning concerns have been idenfied.

Take all necessary and reasonable precauons to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilies.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by the teachers negoated agreement, Board of Educaon policy, administrave regulaon, and laws of the state of Kansas.

Assist the administraon in implemenng all policies and rules governing students. Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure.

Make provision for being available to students and parents for educaon-related purposes when required or requested at mutually agreeable mes.

Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteer(s), and provide feedback to the building principal as to their performances.

Work cooperavely with staff on various tasks and/or assignments.

Job Descripon

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and phone, standard classroom technology including computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged standing, frequent walking, pushing/pulling, occasional kneeling/squang, occasional bending/stooping

Moon: Frequent keyboarding and use of mouse, occasional reaching

Liing: Occasional light liing and carrying (less than 15 pounds), occasional liing of heavy objects

Environment: Primarily indoors; some outdoor student supervision

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interrupons, maintain emoonal control under stress, solve problems, Make decisions

Aendance: Must maintain regular and acceptable ae dance/punctuality as required by the Board of Educaon policies and regulaons.

Clearances: Background check, drug screen, TB test
