Job summary
Bibb County Public Schools Hartley Elementary School in Macon, Georgia seeks a certified or eligible 4th Grade ELA/Social Studies teacher. The role requires K-5 certification; Math or Science certification is preferred.
Salary ranges from $44,981 to $89,492 annually with a 190‑day work year and comprehensive benefits. The teacher will plan lessons, monitor progress, manage the classroom, communicate with families, maintain records, and participate in district professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
- Certification in Early Childhood Education (K-5) required or eligible.
- Certification in Math or Science preferred.

Candidates must be certified in, or eligible for certification in Early Childhood Education (K-5). Certification in Math or Science preferred. Bibb County is a Strategic Waiver District. Alternative Certification routes are available to individuals with a degree from an accredited institution.
This position plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students and provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure achievement and performance for every child.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues
- Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents
- Is available to students and parents for conferences according to district policies
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
- Maintains confidentiality of students and students’ records

- Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provides input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.
- Performs other duties as required by the District, the school, or student need.
Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
- Knowledge of student growth and development
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents related to safety, technology, and educational procedures
- Ability to prepare and communicate effectively through written reports, lesson plans, and correspondence
- Skill in computing and interpreting data, including rate, ratio, and percent calculations
- Proficiency in PC operations and software applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
- Capability to serve as a liaison with various professionals and effectively collaborate with parents and guardians
- Capacity to adapt instructional strategies and provide accommodations to meet individual student needs
- Strong physical capability to manage classroom and student needs, including potential crisis intervention situations
- Ability to obtain clearance certificate from GaPSC.
- 190day work year.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Adopted Salary Schedule and position supplement(s).
