Job summary

MarSell Wellness Center in Riverside is seeking a Teacher to deliver structured educational programming and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, a teaching credential or TESOL certificate, and at least one year of related teaching experience.

The role requires trauma-informed practice and strong collaboration with clinicians and teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct educational screening, assessment, and instructional evaluation activities to determine appropriate academic level, instructional placement, and educational support needs.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term educational goals to support student academic progress and grade-level advancement.
  • Design and deliver lesson plans, instructional units, and educational activities aligned with approved curriculum, program standards, and applicable Flores educational requirements.
  • Apply trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to support students who may have experienced complex life circumstances that impact learning.
  • Establish and maintain person-centered, strength-based classroom environments that promote student engagement, emotional safety, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary team members to support coordinated service delivery and improve access to educational supports and services.

Position Summary:

Provides comprehensive educational assessment, instructional planning, and classroom instruction using strength-based, individualized, and team-based approaches. Responsible for delivering structured educational programming, monitoring student progress, and supporting whole-child educational outcomes through collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including clinical and case management staff. Maintains collaborative relationships across classrooms to support consistent implementation of educational services and student support strategies.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete student records, including attendance, academic progress, assessment data, and educational service documentation.
  • Prepare written reports, progress updates, and educational correspondence for multidisciplinary team members and caregivers as required.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary team members to support coordinated service delivery and improve access to educational supports and services.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external service providers to support student educational success.
  • Participate in team-based educational service delivery across classrooms to support consistency, continuity of care, and program quality.
  • Support educational coordination for students enrolled in public or community-based schools by monitoring academic progress, supporting assignment completion, and facilitating communication with school personnel as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of educational best practices, trauma-informed care, and program standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support educational programming, student success, and program operations.

Required:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Education or a related field,
  • One year of related experience and/or teaching, AND

Language Ability:

Read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the public.

Reasoning Ability:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
