Job Duties

This position is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and updating all required law library materials, including books, statutes, case reporters, digests, forms, and electronic resources. The role ensures inmates have timely access to legal research materials in accordance with Access to Courts standards and unit security procedures and assists inmates in locating legal resources without providing legal advice.

Key duties include managing inventory, tracking usage, and maintaining logs related to law library access and materials. The position processes inmate legal research requestssuch as photocopies or printed materialsin accordance with policy, and maintains accurate documentation including signin sheets, research logs, and grievance responses related to Access to Courts. Coordination with security staff is essential to ensure safe operation of the library and adherence to scheduling requirements.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating virtual court hearings, ensuring proper scheduling, equipment readiness, offender movement, and documentation. The role also processes, schedules, and monitors attorney telephone calls while maintaining confidentiality and legal compliance, and facilitates attorney visits and attorney representative visits, including credential verification, scheduling, and record keeping.

The position processes indigent inmate requests for legal supplies, correspondence materials, and other Access to Courtsrelated items, ensuring timely distribution and proper eligibility review. It also requires maintaining logs and documentation for indigent requests, legal mail submissions, and issued correspondence supplies.
