Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Photolithography Overlay Engineer in Boise, Idaho. You will define overlay control strategies, develop roadmaps, and deploy AI-driven overlay methods to meet target specifications across advanced DRAM nodes.

You will collaborate with process engineers, automation specialists, and external vendors to translate development work into high‑volume manufacturing. This role emphasizes data-driven decision making and scalable patterning solutions globally.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in photolithography, metrology, overlay, CDs, or photo patterning.
  • Strong analytical skills including statistics and data analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain overlay control strategies for advanced DRAM technology nodes.
  • Develop alignment and overlay roadmaps to achieve target overlay specifications.
  • Evaluate and deploy new overlay methodologies using AI, including feedforward, feedback, NZO correction, and scanner modeling.
  • Optimize overlay performance through sampling plans, control models, and scanner correction capabilities.
  • Document and standardize overlay methods across technologies and global sites.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve photo overlay system.
  • Develop solutions using AI tools.

As a Photolithography Overlay Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing overlay and patterning through analysis and data‑driven solutions. This role offers hands‑on technical impact today, while also influencing Micron’s long‑term overlay roadmap. You will collaborate closely with process engineers, automation experts, and vendors to bring new ideas from development into high‑volume manufacturing.

  • Evaluate and deploy new overlay methodologies using modern tools like AI, including feedforward, feedback, NZO correction, and advanced scanner modeling.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, or a lithography‑related field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or MS/PhD plus 2 years of experience
  • Hands‑on experience in photolithography, metrology, overlay, CDs, or photo patterning
  • Familiarity with fab operations and photo automation systems
  • Strong analytical skills, including statistics and data analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in R&D or high‑volume manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency with DOE, data modeling, or advanced statistical techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver production‑ready automation solutions
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross‑functional technical projects
  • Strong working relationships with equipment or software vendors
