Job Description

Assists the RN Clinical Navigator in daily tasks as the main liaison between physicians and patients, as well as between physicians and office staff. Coordinates new patient referrals, bone marrow transplants, testing, and research for all TCHMS II offices.

Responsibilities
  • Screen patient calls to physicians and handle those not requiring direct physician communication; serve as liaison between physicians and office staff across locations.
  • Coordinate procedures for TCHMS II physicians, including scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, specimen handling, and communication with outpatient facilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cancer centers and research facilities nationwide and internationally.
  • Manage physicians' schedules, including updates for vacations, conferences, and procedures, using Google Calendar and maintaining physical records.
  • Assist with daily rounds, gather inpatient data, and coordinate tests and scans per physician requests.
  • Handle insurance authorizations, coordinate patient participation in trials, and facilitate new patient referrals by gathering records and scheduling appointments.
  • Perform clerical duties such as mail handling, document delivery, and meeting preparations.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of medical office experience, with 2-3 years in oncology research preferred. Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and computer skills (Epic preferred). Ability to build relationships and exercise sound judgment.
