HUMAN SERVICE CHAMBER OF FRANKLIN COUNTY seeks a community education coordinator to plan, coordinate, implement, track and evaluate activities educating the public about family violence. You will engage diverse audiences across business, faith, healthcare, legal, colleges and nonprofits, delivering trainings and developing curricula.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field, and a valid Ohio driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategy development and implementation for training, advocacy, community engagement and public education activities.
  • Provide family violence education to diverse audiences across sectors (Business, Faith, Healthcare, Legal, Colleges/Universities, Non-Profits).
  • Facilitate training using varied teaching methods (role plays, simulations, discussions, videos, webinars).
  • Support community outreach by developing partnerships to promote education and awareness.
  • Represent TCFSH at community events and meetings.
  • Develop curricula and materials on family violence aligned with TCFSH plan.

Overview:
  • Delivers community education and prevention training on the topic of intimate partner violence
  • Focuses efforts on workplace and healthcare systems responding to intimate partner violence, including the development of policies and procedures
  • Engages in coalition building related to family violence in Central Ohio
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, tracking and evaluating activities related to educating the community about family violence.

Job Description:
Essential Functions:
  • Assists with strategy development and implementation for the overall training, advocacy, community engagement and public education activities of TCFSH.
  • Provides family violence education to diverse audiences within the following sectors: Business, Faith, Healthcare, Legal, Colleges/Universities, and Community Non-Profit Providers.
  • Facilitates training and awareness of family violence using a variety of instructional techniques or formats that are appropriate for the audience, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, online resources, webinars and lectures.
  • Supports community outreach and engagement efforts by developing and maintaining partnerships to promote and deliver family violence education and awareness.
  • Provides outreach, promote community awareness and represent TCFSH at community events, activities and meetings.
  • Develops the relevant training curriculum and materials on the topic of family violence and align with TCFSH strategic plan.
Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Social Services, Higher Education, Communications or a related field, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position‑specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations to provide service coordination.
  • High level of initiative, self-direction and strong organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, professional and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Dynamics, and SharePoint.
Experience:
  • One year of experience in managing, leading and coordinating efforts in the community or for an organization, required.
  • Experience in public speaking and facilitating sessions with various sized groups and diverse audiences, required.
  • Experience working with child welfare system or knowledge of community resources and family violence services, preferred.
Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Climb stairs/ladder, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Loud Noises, Standing, Working Outdoors
