This position is a member of our Air Permits Division.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supervise a highly advanced Operating Permits Section production team which includes overseeing activities, workload, permit project assignment, production (quality and quantity of reviews), and permit timeframe tracking (PTT) goals. Initiate, plan, and organize team projects and review. Communicate with management and staff regarding potential issue and/or work status.
  • Serve as advisor and consultant to management and staff in technical matters and program functions. Provide highly advanced technical assistance related to the federal operating permit program for internal and external customers.
  • Participate in development and implementation of Division, Section, and Team policies, streamlining initiatives and decisions, and technical research, to include providing proposals and recommendations. Prepare and deliver effective written and oral presentations for the Agency, Division, or Section for various public and industrial groups.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with air environmental permitting
  • Experience supervising staff (hiring, performance management, etc.)
  • Experience with APD databases (Title V IMS, NSR IMS, APAD)
  • Experience with e-permitting

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.

OR

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within theProgram Management Specialist IIstate classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in theProgram Management Specialist II series.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Air Permits Division.
