Job summary

The Village Family Services, Inc. in North Hollywood, CA is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team.

The Employment Specialist will assist Transition Age Youth (TAY) at the Drop-In Center with career development, resumes, interviews, and job placements, while tracking outcomes to meet program KPIs. This role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally competent services, strong relationships with local employers, and ongoing support to help TAY achieve meaningful employment in

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; two years related experience preferred in mental health, social services, or non-profit field.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with electronic records systems is highly desirable.
• Valid CA Driver's License.
• CPR & First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with youth and young adults facing hardship or housing instability.
• Minimum 1 year of employment/workforce development or case management experience with TAY.

Responsibilities

• Work 1-on-1 with clients to provide employment services—prepare for, find, and keep a job.
• Manage a dedicated caseload with independent judgment and strong organizational skills.
• Build relationships with employers to create and place participants in right-fit roles.
• Identify job readiness needs and provide resume, applications, interview prep, and mock interviews.
• Develop partnerships with employers and community programs to expand opportunities.
• Track and report outcomes, referrals, placements, trainings, and retention to measure KPIs.
• Provide ongoing job coaching on and off-site and support day-to-day case management.
• Ensure confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and HIPAA requirements.
