Position Overview

We are currently looking for a talented Taxi Crane Operator to operate our fleet of taxi cranes. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the crane to lift, move, and position materials and equipment at job sites. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and be a part of a dynamic team.

Job Location: Jacksonville, FL

Required: NCCCO certification

Responsibilities

1. Operate taxi cranes to lift and move materials and equipment on construction sites, industrial facilities, and other locations as needed.
2. Interpret load charts and work orders to determine the appropriate crane configuration and lifting procedures for each job.
3. Conduct pre-operational inspections of the crane to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any defects or maintenance issues.
4. Safely rig loads and attach them to the crane using appropriate rigging techniques and equipment.
5. Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radio communication, or other means to coordinate crane movements.
6. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage.
7. Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
8. Perform routine maintenance tasks on the crane, such as lubrication and minor repairs.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid NCCCO certification.
3. 1-3 years of experience operating taxi cranes or similar equipment.
4. Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load capacities, and rigging techniques.
5. Proficiency in industry rigging standards (ASME, OSHA), calculating sling angles and tensions, and determining center of gravity.
6. Experience in creating and executing critical lift plans.
7. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
8. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
9. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
10. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.
11. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
12. Attention to safety, detail, and flexibility for overtime and travel.
13. Ability to pass fit for duty assessment, drug test, and background check.
