Batts Morrison Wales & Lee, a national CPA firm dedicated exclusively to serving nonprofit organizations, is seeking a highly motivated, positive, and committed candidate with at least 2-3 years’ experience in tax workflow management or tax administration in a public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in written and oral communication; attention to detail; interpersonal relations; use of technology; client service; critical thinking; time management; and organization.
Responsibilities
- Management of tax compliance and tax project workflow
- Oversight and management of tax and information return deadlines
- Oversight and monitoring of client-promised due dates for major projects
- Oversight and implementation of monthly tax billings
- Reporting to tax partners on monthly tax team metrics and generating underlying reports
- Maintenance of tax workflow software
- Onboarding new tax work
- Assisting other team members in assembling returns and filings for submission to taxing authorities
- Coordinating client and team meetings
- Preparation of correspondence to clients and/or tax authorities
- Developing and assisting with implementing new systems to streamline tax work
- Other responsibilities as assigned by tax team leadership
Qualifications and attributes
- Self-starter, independent thinker, fast learner, and extremely focused on accuracy and efficiency of work
- Passion for serving nonprofit organizations with excellence in the details
- Experience serving churches and faith-based organizations (denominational, missionary, evangelistic, media-oriented, humanitarian relief, schools, foundations) is a plus
Education
Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but not required.
Computer Skills
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat products is required. Experience with CCH Axcess or other tax workflow management software is preferred, but not required.
