Tax, Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney

We are an AmLaw200 law firm seeking an experienced Tax, Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join our team in Florida, New Jersey, or New York. The ideal candidate will bring a robust knowledge base in taxation and estate planning to handle complex legal matters for our clients who require expert advice and guidance. This position is perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic, high-stakes legal environment and are looking to further their expertise under the mentorship of seasoned professionals in the field.

Salary: $225,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and representation in areas of tax, trusts, and estate planning.
  • Prepare and review legal documents such as wills, trusts, estates, and tax returns.
  • Counsel clients on strategies to minimize taxes, administer estates, and facilitate various family and business transactions.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and understand its impact on clients and their business operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff, promoting a team approach to client service and case management.
  • Participate in business development activities, including seminars and workshops to expand client outreach and firm visibility.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Admitted to the bar in at least one of the states where the firm has offices and where candidate desires residence.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tax, trusts, and estate law practice.
  • Strong academic credentials and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • Must possess leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LL.M in Taxation or Estate Planning highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a law firm setting working with complex estate planning and tax mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with financial software and tools relevant to estate planning and tax calculations.
  • Experience in litigating estate or tax-related matters.
  • Professional certification or memberships in relevant legal associations.
