Position Summary:

SolomonEdwards is looking to add experienced, well-credentialed Tax Professionals to our growing tax practice. Our client has an immediate opportunity for a long-term project to help lead a tax financial transformation project. As a Tax Technology Implementation Lead, you will be part of a team working as a collaborative partner with our client. You will be responsible for leading the business requirements, development, and deployment of tax technology solutions that enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of the international tax function. This role is pivotal to the success of the transformation as it bridges the gap between the established tax team, IT, and the system integration team, ensuring that tax requirements are effectively translated into scalable technology solutions.

Our ideal candidate has experience in a large, multinational corporate tax setting as a functional tax professional. Additionally, they have been part of an implementation team or played a key role in past tax technology implementations. This is a great opportunity to showcase your talent and experience with an exciting client. Our team primarily works remotely with limited client travel to client locations (up to 20% annually). This project will require travel to the client’s location. Our clients are geographically dispersed across the US with concentrations where we have local SolomonEdwards offices (Philadelphia, San Jose, Dallas, and Houston).

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of tax technology solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Vertex, OneSource).
  • Collaborate with tax, finance, and IT teams to gather business requirements and define project scope.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee system configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on tax processes and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the tax function.
  • Ensure data integrity and system integration with ERP and financial systems.
  • Train and support end-users on new systems and tools.
  • Stay current with tax regulations and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in tax accounting, compliance, and indirect taxation with large, multinational corporations.
  • Expertise with US GAAP, SOX compliance, and global tax regulations.
  • Proven experience with tax technology platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Alteryx, OneSource, etc.).
  • Prior experience leading or acting as a team member in a tax technology implementation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax professionals.

Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Experience in a corporate or Big 4 public accounting environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based tax solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to work and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Travel Requirements: Travel will be required at the client's discretion.

Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $100-130.
