Job summary

Biltmore is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax & Technical Accounting to lead the tax function and technical accounting efforts within the Finance organization in Asheville, NC. This role focuses on tax compliance, policy development, and strategic guidance across accounting and tax matters.

You will collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and external advisors to strengthen reporting, controls, and audit readiness, while driving continuous improvement and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA designation required.
• 6+ years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and corporate taxation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate independently and own core processes.
• Exceptional written communication and documentation abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance across Biltmore, coordinating with internal and external advisors.
• Manage tax calendar, review significant filings and workpapers, and respond to notices and audits.
• Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury on tax provisions, reconciliations, forecasts, and planning.
• Research complex accounting matters and prepare technical memoranda and guidance.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Accounting/Finance teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate accounting and tax processes.
• Collaborate with Finance and Technology on Workday and other systems enhancements.
