Job summary
Turo in San Francisco is seeking a Tax Technology & Innovation Manager to own the technical infrastructure for indirect tax systems and data pipelines. The role partners with Finance, Engineering and Product to ensure scalable, accurate tax operations and compliance as the business grows, including international expansion.
You will lead end-to-end tax technology deployments, drive automation using AI, oversee data flows between ERP and tax engines, and help migrate OneSource to AWS, while
Qualifications
- 8-10+ years in tax tech or related field.
- Experience with tax determination platforms (OneSource Determination preferred; Avalara/TaxJar/Vertex acceptable).
- Knowledge of indirect tax concepts and tax data flows.
- Experience with ERP integrations and tax systems.
- Familiarity with SOX controls in tech environments.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end deployment of tax technology tools with Engineering, Product and Finance stakeholders.
- Own tax technology operations and daily reliability of indirect tax systems.
- Lead evaluation and selection of tax technology solutions.
- Support automation initiatives across finance and tax functions.
- Migrate OneSource to AWS with Engineering collaboration.
- Identify AI/automation opportunities to improve accuracy and speed.
