Job summary

Purvis Gray seeks a Tax Senior to join our Business Tax Services team in Florida. You will handle complex engagements for privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals, supporting Managers and Partners while mentoring junior staff.

You will assist in planning, executing, and finalizing tax engagements, and contribute to research and planning opportunities while staying up to date with tax laws affecting our client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license (or eligibility) a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and partnership/corporate tax regulations.
• Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1065 and/or 1120.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills.
• Exposure to private company tax compliance and consulting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individuals (Form 1040 and 1041), Exempt Orgs (Form 990), partnerships (Form 1065), and corporations (Form 1120/1120-S).

• Communicate with clients and help manage engagement expectations.
• Support training, supervision, and development of junior staff.
• Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to assigned industries.

• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and deliver high-quality work
• Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1065 and/or 1120
• Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills
• Exposure to private company tax compliance and consulting
• Familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

• Proven ability to mentor and lead junior staff
