Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown is seeking a Tax Supervisor to lead audit engagements from planning to completion in the Braintree, MA area. You will supervise staff, mentor team members, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering accurate tax compliance for C corp., S corp., and partnerships.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting with CPA in progress, possesses excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills, and is prepared for a hybrid work arrangement in the Boston

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed.
• Strong client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure timely delivery.
• Review complex tax returns for C corp., S corp., and partnership entities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and tax planning.

But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How you'll spend your time:Preparing complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returnsPreparing high net worth individual returnsReviewing mid-level complexity C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returnsReviewing mid-level complexity individual returnsResearching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax mattersIdentifying tax planning opportunitiesHandling and resolve tax controversiesTraining and supervision of staff accountantsThe kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingLicensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passedMasters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not requiredAt least 4 years of public accounting experienceExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing projectsStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementExcellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skillsAbility to travel as neededThe compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 – $145,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
