Job summary

CBIZ is seeking a Tax Manager for our Indianapolis office. This leadership role focuses on delivering strategic tax guidance, managing engagement teams, and building strong client relationships.

The role blends technical tax work with client consulting, team development, and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a CPA or equivalent, extensive experience in public accounting, and the ability to lead engagements, mentor staff, and drive new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA certification preferred or required.
• Active CPA or equivalent certification required.
• Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements and supervise staff.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements blending technical tax work with strategic planning.
• Directly partner with entrepreneurial companies across industries.
• Review federal, state, and local tax returns with high accuracy.
• Research and analyze complex tax issues; present actionable recommendations.
• Mentor and develop tax professionals; provide performance feedback.
• Support business development and expand client relationships.
