Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Staff to work on a range of tax engagements under supervision, engaging with clients across industries and collaborating with project in-charges. The role develops tax knowledge while preparing basic and intermediate returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in accounting or related field, CPA eligibility, and comfort with travel and overtime as cycles demand. Masters is preferred and Excel proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Masters preferred
• CPA certified or the eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime required during certain business cycles

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve clients from various industries
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients
• Develop tax knowledge while preparing basic and intermediate individual tax returns
• Prepare federal and multi-state corporate tax returns and basic partnership returns
• Research fundamental tax issues using online tools
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files
• Perform other essential duties as needed
