Job summary

CDH CPA, PLLC is seeking a Tax Staff Accountant to join our Illinois team. The role covers preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, and fiduciary returns, payroll taxes, and timely bookkeeping support under supervision of experienced staff.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or MBA) and are encouraged to pursue CPA; a CPA license is a plus. We value professional development and offer a supportive, award-winning workplace environment in Itasca.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field, or MBA.
• Current CPA license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of tax returns, including corporate, partnership, individual tax and fiduciary
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, 1099s and W-2s, along with monthly bookkeeping, as needed
• Prepares amended and carryback returns
• Prepares S-election form, form to request accounting changes and form requesting to acquire an employer identification number
• Responds and prepares initial drafts of tax notices and letters
• Researches technical issues using regulatory and source materials utilizing electronic databases
• Ensures tax returns are prepared in accordance with the terms of the various governing documents and applicable federal tax and state law
• Participates in technical discussions and propose solutions relating to client tax matters
• Uses Firm’s software to automate the data transfer process from the trial balance to the financial statements and eventually for the preparation of the tax return

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field, or MBA

The tax staff accountant is responsible for a wide variety of diversified accounting and tax assignments under the supervision of various professional staff members.

Professional Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of tax returns, including corporate, partnership, individual tax and fiduciary
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, 1099s and W-2s, along with monthly bookkeeping, as needed
• Prepares amended and carryback returns
