Tax Senior Manager – Financial Services Office – Fiduciary/Trust & Estate Tax Administration Services (“FTEAS”)

FTEAS provides fiduciary and court accounting services for trusts and estates for banks, law firms, family offices, and trustees across the U.S. The Senior Manager is a key leadership role involved in strategy, technical review of complex trust and estate accountings, client relationship management, business development, staff supervision, recruitment, operational efficiency, and profitability. The role also ensures compliance with EY policies, including onboarding, independence, and technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical review of complex trust and estate accountings.
  • Leading teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Managing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Participating in business development activities, including sales calls, client presentations, and marketing.
  • Building relationships with potential clients and attending industry events.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction through timely responses and compliance.
  • Providing estimates and documentation for new engagements, establishing client and engagement codes, and vetting matters for independence and compliance.
  • Fostering internal relationships for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Supporting team communication, knowledge sharing, and decision-making.
  • Developing operational efficiencies and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Completing ongoing education to stay current on fiduciary accounting and software.
  • Monitoring engagement profitability, staff efficiency, and workload.
  • Overseeing billing and collections processes.

  • Expertise in interpreting trust documents, accounting concepts, and state/local filing requirements.
  • Experience in pricing, proposals, and monitoring engagement profitability.
  • Compliance with EY practices and procedures.
  • Technical review and sign-off on accountings.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, EA, Attorney, Fiduciary Certification, or CTFA.
  • Excellent communication and fiduciary accounting skills.
  • Experience reviewing complex accountings and IRS forms.
  • Knowledge of trust structures, investments, and tax concepts.
  • Ability to interpret trust agreements and estate planning documents.
  • Research skills on state laws.
  • Leadership and client interaction skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fiduciary trust software.
Other Requirements
  • 10+ years of fiduciary/court accounting experience managing staff and engagements.
  • Experience with complex assets, large trusts, estates, and family offices is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
