Tax Senior (Remote) - Top 15 CPA Firm

Brewer Morris is currently working with a top national CPA firm to find a fully remote Tax Senior. The firm is recognized as a leading organization in accounting, tax, financial advisory, and consulting services. Serving a diverse client base, including publicly traded and private companies, it offers comprehensive services and global capabilities with personalized attention from experienced professionals.

The Tax Senior will advise clients on tax implications of their business objectives, evaluate and suggest strategies to reduce tax burdens, ensure compliance with regulations, and serve as the primary contact for complex tax issues. This role involves applying tax knowledge, identifying risks, and communicating potential policy changes. Additionally, the Tax Senior will participate in marketing, networking, business development, and may provide written tax advice to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
  • Lead a team of staff accountants
  • Oversee planning and scheduling of engagements
  • Research complex tax issues
  • Ensure quality of work
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Provide feedback
  • Communicate progress to partners
  • Develop existing and new client relationships
  • Advise clients on income tax issues and planning

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Three medical plan options, including a high-deductible health plan
  • Vision and dental plans, with orthodontia benefits
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts
  • Access to mental and physical health resources (e.g., Headspace, Spring Health)
  • Virtual care programs for mental health and physical therapy

  • Work hours: 37.5 hours in off-season; during busy season, minimum 55 hours, averaging 60, with potential for more near deadlines
  • CPA bonus of $3,000
  • Non-CPA candidates receive an additional 5 days of PTO for exam preparation
  • Reimbursement for first-time CPA exam fees; study materials from Surgent, Becker, Roger provided free or up to $2,000 reimbursement
