Job summary

Blue & Co., LLC in Carmel, IN is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to lead tax engagements and develop relationships with clients, peers, and directors. The role emphasizes supervisory and mentoring duties and focuses on Construction/Real Estate clients while expanding exposure to other industries.

The ideal candidate will have CPA certification or be eligible, 3–6 years of tax experience in public accounting, and strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• CPA Certification or eligible and actively pursuing certification.
• 3-6 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm.
• Client exposure to the Construction and/or Real Estate Industry preferred but not required.
• Proven financial, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client service and the desire to build business development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage engagements, prioritize engagements and supervise/motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client locations, mostly day trips; minimal overnight travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and manage all aspects of tax engagements.
• Prepare business and individual tax returns.
• Perform field work to include the preparation of complex work papers along with monitoring the work paper preparation of Staff Accountants.
• Foster teamwork, innovative thinking, and knowledge sharing with team members to enhance service delivery.
• Training and mentoring Staff Accountants.
• Continu continually learn and become a subject matter expert in your area(s) of interest.
