Job summary

HBK is a growing Top 50 accounting firm seeking a qualified professional to join our tax and accounting practice in a collaborative environment. You will prepare and review tax returns and accounting projects, work directly with Partners and Senior Managers, and lead internal staff to deliver engagements on time.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of public accounting experience, CPA timeline readiness, strong research and communication skills, and solid knowledge of accounting, auditing and tax

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience and CPA progression or certification planned.
• Ability to research and resolve complex issues with minimal oversight.
• Experience planning and supervising larger engagements; tax return prep experience required.
• Strong writing, verbal communication and presentation skills with clients and staff.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting, auditing and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and execute tax returns and related engagements with Partners.
• Complete moderately complex projects accurately and efficiently.
• Supervise internal team members to ensure timely delivery of engagements.
• Coordinate large client engagements, identify issues, and advise on strategies.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
• Demonstrate leadership to promote teamwork and client service excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of previous public accounting experience.
• Successful candidate should have CPA or be on a timeline of obtaining within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
• Ability to research and resolve complex issues with minimal oversight.
• Experience in planning and supervising larger engagements; previous tax return preparation experience is required.
• Solid research and writing skills, excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
• A competent working knowledge of accounting, auditing and tax software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and/or executing assigned tax returns and accounting/consulting projects, working directly with Partners and Senior Managers.
• Complete moderately complex projects accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently.
• Supervising and leading members of the internal team to ensure client engagements and projects are delivered in a timely manner.
• Participate with more experienced personnel in coordinating large client engagements, identifying problems, tax law and computer model analysis, and helping clients determine optimal strategies.
• Continually participate in professional and personal development, including appropriate technical trainings.
• Demonstrate leadership skills in support of all firm policies and procedures to promote teamwork and loyalty.
• Promote and create positive client and team member impressions by exhibiting professional demeanor, competence, and ability.
